New Blog

I have started a new blog that is dedicated primarily to bargain shopping and frugal living.

This site started out as a church related calling, so I would like to keep it mainly for that purpose. I will continue to post best grocery deals on both sites, but content on each site will be different.

Coupon Class Saturday, November 8th

I promised a fall coupon class, so I finally set a date!

• Maximize the benefits of using coupons
• Get stuff for FREE
• Work on building your food storage/year supply
• Utilize FREE resources
• Organizing coupons

I am NOT selling anything. This workshop will focus on FREE services and resources (i.e. I will NOT be advocating the "subscription" coupon services). The only investment required is acquiring Sunday Paper coupons (which you could get for free from family etc.) and some time (as little or as much as you have to put into it).

The workshop is FREE. It is geared towards beginners, but anyone is welcome to attend.

I live in Queen Creek. Anyone is welcome!

Based on this week's sales (Quaker breakfast promo), the $5/$25 Whole Foods Coupon (which expired today), and my $5 catalina from the candy promo here is what I got:

Save Money on Baby Food

Cindy mentioned that she will be making baby food with the carrots she got from the Target Deal.

Making your own baby food is really easy and cheap! You don't have so spend lots of time. 

Here is what I did:

1. Buy the product you would like to make into baby food. (fruits, veggies, meat)
2. Prepare, mash, puree (depending on food).
3. Make a lot at one time.
4. Pour it into ice cube trays.
5. Freeze.
6. Pop into ziploc bags.
7. Defrost when ready to use. The ice cubes let you choose portion size.

More Tips:

• Buy really cheap ice cube trays at Wal-Mart.
• Buy your produce on sale or from a local co-op, such as Bountiful Baskets.
• Use the internet for tips on preparing. I like Wholesome Baby Food.
• If you have a insulated lunch bag and ice pack, you can take it on the go.
• Have some commercially processed baby food for emergencies, if you don't have access to heating up food, etc.
